Hello friends and welcome back. It’s the first of a new month so I have a new 49andMarket project to share. “Happiness” is a pretty shabby chic project created using some older collections.
I love the challenge of being given a goodies box and creating from it. Well that is exactly how this layout came about. Janene
was kind enough to send me a little package full of some older collections and pieces to create a project available to stores. So
this is where I went with it. I decided on these 2 gorgeous photos of my youngest a little while back, up a tree and being cheeky
and of course very cute. I think this day I must have taken a hundred of photos so to choose is very difficult. I printed them off
adding in a border as well. I layered the two photos over pieces cut from the “Garden Seeds” Cottage Life collection. These
pieces were distressed fairly heavily and and popped up on some foam tapes for more dimension.
I then used the “Garden Letters” paper from the gorgeous Bold and Beautiful collection as my background sheet. This was primed
with clear gesso. I added in some texture freehand with my palette knife and also with a wood grain stencil from Tim Holtz and
Crackle Paste. I also added in a little stamping using Gabi’s Label Stamp Set and Archival Watering Can ink.
Once all the medias had dried I adhered my photos and mattings to the centre of the page making the photos my focal point.
I popped out all the pieces from the Bold and Beautiful 8 x 8 Laser Cut Sheet and layered these pieces amongst pieces of
gorgeous white laces. This lace piece was cut into many sections and adhered around the layout to help the laser cut pieces
pop.
I added in some of the cute Wishing Bubbles in Limeade that worked perfectly with this project. And I also added Star Dust
Stickles to the finer pieces of my project. My chipboard word was dressed in White Opal Liquid pearls to help compliment
my layout.
