“Make a wish” 49andMarket Design Team Project

Hello and welcome back 49andMarket friends. Today I have my next project to
share with you. For this project today, which I have titled “Make a wish”, I
have gone back to my vintage roots where I started my crafting journey. For
those that have known me this long, this is where I felt most at home. Something
with a vintage feel. Of course this photo is not 100 years old but the project
itself would suit that with a vintage photo very well indeed. This is my project
for today….
And because I am doing something vintage I have used 49andMarket’s Vintage
Remnants collection. Oh so many differing papers in this collection. So many to
choose from and the background features in these papers are beyond amazing. I
felt that they were so so amazing that I did not add much at all but a little
random stamping with some archival ink using Pascale’s Form stamp. But because I
am creating with a photo of my youngest daughter I decided on something pretty
with a little bit of grunge to it. I chose to use Vintage Remnants Paper No. 05.
I used two sheets, the first of course for my background and the second was for
the tearing of strips that I layered up with some old corrugated board. I used
both sides for the layering and matting of my photo. All the layers were made
more dimensional by the addition of some old board.
The Vintage Remnants No 05 was my paper choice. An absolutely gorgeous paper!

Above you can see a small snippet of the gorgeous 49andMarket florals. I have used a huge mix here. Some of the Sandcastle in Garden Seeds as well and the Blossom Blends with the addition of the Ecru in Vintage Shades Blossoms. And adorning the top of the cluster a cute little Dusty Attic Vintage Key embossed in gold.

Above you can see how I have used the Ethereal Layered Embellishments.

After I layered up all the layers of torn paper I embossed my string of
hearts chipboard frame with gold embossing powder. I then inked the edges with a
little ground espresso distress ink. After the ink dried completely I swiped
over some acrylic paint in Dusty Pink. I repeated this step with the chipboard
word also. My chipboard baroque corners were cut into little pieces and inked.
The frame was added over and around the photo. I then added in all my pretty
49andMarket Florals. I have used a mixture for this project. To highlight the
colours from the photo I decided to add in some Ecru Blossoms from the Vintage
Shades older collections. I combined in some Blossom Blends in Garden Seeds
using the vintage pinks and the lighter browns from these packs. I have also add
in a couple of the mini Garden Seeds in Cotton . I tucked in the remaining
chipboards amongst the clusters.

To complete my project I added in some gorgeous pieces from the Ethereal
Layered Embellishments pack and some distressed sections of muslin. I also did
some splatters of watered down gesso and colouring of the background with some
of the Dusty Acrylic Pink paint. My last thing was the addition of the Lacey
Trim in white. Sections of this made the photo pop a little more at the base.
And that was that. My layout was complete.
I hope you have enjoyed my vintage styled project for today. I will be back
at the end of the month with something more for you. Until then take care and
happy crafting.
