“Timeless” 49andMarket Design Team Creation

Hello and welcome back 49andMarket friends. Today I am back with my first
share for May. This time around I decided to do something a little grungy
and masculine. The project features a photo of my husband who much prefers
not to be the centre of any of my projects, but here he is. I hope you like
it.
I adore the collection Old School and every now and then I take a sheet of
it out to see what I can be inspired by. This time around it was the “High
School” sheet.
I love the grunginess of this paper and thought that something a little
seaside would work well. I primed my paper and added in some matting from a
second piece
of the paper using the “b” side. I turned my background page around giving
it a completely different look. I find that turning the paper makes the
difference in how you
would sometimes use it. And it was so for this. I attached the photo and
matting and then added in some textures using a slate paste mixed with Texture
Sand.
I think went to work trying to replicate the rocks on the shoreline where
my husband is standing. I wasn’t so happy with the outcome of this, but not
everything
works every time. Again I used the Slate Paste with the Texture Sand and
this time I added in Art Stones. I applied this very thickly and allowed it to
dry. I painted
it randomly using Black Onyx Liquid Pearls to help keep it a little shiny.
I then brushed over it with Frank Garcias Artisan Powders.
I then went to work
on priming
two packs of the “Timeless” archival boards. The archival boards were
dressed in acrylic paints in the shades of Rainy Day and Cool Grey. Highlights
were made
on the archivals using Black Soot distress inks. I went to working on
cutting the archivals in halves and finding where they sat well on my project.
I love the look of layers and I tried to achieve this by adding in some
more textures using some distressed cheesecloth. This also created more movement
on the page.
I added in an extra laser cut clock I found from the Vintage Remnants Laser
cut pack #1. I cut this in half and added it along with the anchor that I found
from the
“Escape” Archival Boards. I also added in a few shells and a couple of
flowers that were coloured with the Artisan Powders. The title “Timeless” was
dressed
with a thick application of the Black Onyx liquid pearls. I finally added
in some random stamping using 49andMarket’s “Snapshots of Yesterday” Stamp set
and
archival ink in watering can. Lastly I added in some white gesso splatters
to help brighten the layout a little.
Well that is all from me today. I do hope you like my project. Stay tuned
for more design team inspiration coming your way tomorrow.
Until next time take care and happy crafting.
